Again, Everwood participated in the Transition Forum, which took place on September 29th and 30th at the Palais de la Méditerranée, in Nice. The Transition Forum association, of which Everwood is a member, aims to speed up the ecological transition by bringing together a diverse community of international players to act as a catalyst for real solutions.
The theme for the 5th edition of the forum was “Time to accelerate” and aimed to encourage the decarbonisation of primarily 4 industries: transport, food, housing, and manufacturing of consumer goods. The event brought together more than 1,500 participants and 300,000 online participants in both France and abroad.
The Transition Forum welcomed more than 100 speakers, including public and private decision-makers, elected officials, as well as scientists, entrepreneurs, and industrialists, for discussions regarding the key themes and issues of the ecological transition.
Among them were Agnès PANNIER-RUNACHER, Minister of Energy Transition, Karima DELLI, Member of the European Parliament and Nathalie HILMI, Chair of the Committee on Transport and Tourism. Also present was Head of the Environmental Economics Section of the Scientific Centre of Monaco and principal author of the IPCC reports, David LEISHMAN and US Department of Agriculture Advisor Christophe BECHU, who is also the Minister of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion.
Themes that were discussed included the challenges of ecological planning, energy efficiency, decarbonisation of transport and mobility, along with the ecological transition in the textile sector.
Following two days of constructive discussions, the Transition Forum concluded with a clear message: it is time to take action and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon future.
